The gaming community can be a tough crowd, that’s no secret. Geoff Keighley, presenter for Summer Game Fest, understands this and is trying to manage gamer expectations for the upcoming event.
Keighley is asking that gamers manage expectations after numerous wild rumors cropped up online over the weekend.
Extending on his thoughts, Keighley said that Xbox and Nintendo Switch will showcase some of their newest exclusive games. But Microsoft is more likely to hold off for their own event.
Keighley called some of the recent rash of online rumors “crazy.”
“So we’re doing some good stuff for you, but definitely manage your expectations in terms of the megaton shocks that you’re expecting. This is not The Game Awards. We’ve got lots of good stuff to show you but buyer beware of some of the crazy rumors I’m seeing out there in terms of things people expect to get announced.” Keighley explained.
“This is a really exciting weekend for me because I get to finally see things we’ve been talking about to people for months,” Keighley said on Twitter.
As always, the games in this trailer are ones from earlier this year and down the road, not meant to hint at any specific reveals. Just a celebration of this incredible medium. Say tuned to @summergamefest for announcements.

“We’ll have the first level playthrough of Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2: That game looks really incredible, and we’re excited to showcase that for you as well on Thursday.” He went on.
Another big Summer Game Fest showstopper will be a drop in by Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, who’s always a hit with the gamer community.
The show is set to last about two hours in total, which includes celebrity guest appearances and exclusive gaming announcements. So gear up, folks, but make sure you understand what you’re getting into so we don’t have to read your angry Tweets following the event.
